at the range with finance caddie: EMMA ROSS
Wellness, Movement and a Sporting Mindset
Emma Ross is a movement and wellbeing coach and Director of Urban Wellness Hub in Aberdeen, specialising in yoga, stress reduction, workplace wellbeing, Bowen Therapy and the EMMETT Technique. Her work helps people find practical ways to move, recover and manage the pressures of everyday life, recognising that balance looks different for everyone.
Building a Career
Emma’s route into therapy and holistic wellbeing was shaped by injuries she experienced through sport and a high-paced lifestyle. Her interest in understanding how the body moves, adapts and recovers led her to train in therapy-based modalities, yoga and yoga sports science, helping her develop a broad understanding of functional movement and recovery.
That personal experience continues to shape her approach: understanding what someone wants to do, what may be holding them back, and how to support them in feeling more comfortable and confident in their movement (and mindset).
Beyond Business: Why Golf and Movement Matter
With an elite-level sporting background, Emma enjoys working with athletes at every level. Her approach connects mobility, flexibility, balance, recovery and mental focus qualities that matter both in everyday wellbeing and on the golf course.
As someone exploring golf herself, Emma is interested in the attention golfers give to their clubs, technique and swing, alongside the condition of the person taking the shot. Tension, tiredness, restricted movement and the frustration of a previous shot can all influence how someone feels as they step up to play.
At Urban Wellness Hub, Emma’s work ranges from different styles of yoga and gentle mobility to fascia-release movement, hands on therapies, as well as running relaxation and health and wellbeing workshops and events. This variety reflects her belief that wellbeing is personal and that different people need different ways to move, recover and reset.
Emma also brings wellbeing into the workplace, helping people manage stress, restore focus and build practical habits that support sustainable performance. Continuous professional development is central to her work, allowing her to draw on complementary techniques to support each client’s individual needs.
For golfers, the Hub highlights how Bowen Therapy and the EMMETT Technique may help release muscular tension, support mobility and posture, improve body awareness and aid recovery. The focus is not only on injury: People may seek support when they feel tense or restricted, or simply want to make recovery a more regular part of looking after themselves. Regular sessions can also serve as a wellbeing tune-up for people who want to move more freely and feel better on and off the course.
Emma is also developing Well-Fit Golf (You heard it here first!!), bringing together mobility, breathing, mindset and recovery to help golfers prepare for play and look after themselves between rounds. Her aim is to make these approaches accessible and relevant to everyday golfers, whether they are new to the game, returning after a break or playing regularly.
That blend of business ownership, sporting experience, professional curiosity and whole-person wellbeing makes Emma a natural guest for a conversation about performance, recovery, balance and the role movement plays in a healthy life.
